Egg: This egg was not recognised as different from LIIIE1, and was noted as being that species, until the larva had hatched. And since the egg was only encountered twice, no image is available. For guidance only, the description of LIIIE1 may be used. The summary in the above box is from LIIIE1.

Larva: The 4-day larva is much more heavily pigmented than P. robinsoni (LIIIE1 Plate D), but its overall appearance is that of a pinguipedid, and the only genus in our waters is Parapercis. A single larva, barcoded in 2005, has yielded a match with an adult P. albiventer, collected in southern Mozambique in January 2011 (BOLD). Identification is tentative, awaiting further adult and larval barcodes.

This egg has only been seen 3 times in the samples from Park Rynie, and only twice in the DHM samples (green graph). Off Park Rynie 11 out of 12 eggs were in inshore samples.
